This series of works were made from a ritual of visiting a pond near my home and drawing the ducks, geese and egrets who live there. I took off my shoes as part of this ritual, as a gesture of respect and to practice a light touch on the earth. I learned from them the practice of quiet and stillness. I would sit and slow my breath as they slept near by me. I was humbled when they perceived me as no threat. As a human, I rarely experience that.
